A show concludes each session of Allegheny Riding Camp.
Allegheny Riding Camp
Founded in 1975, Allegheny Riding Camp was the first Grier Summer program. Allegheny Riding Camp is our premier camp for girls ages 7 to 17 who love horses! In order to assure a personalized experience for every camper, Allegheny Riding Camp accommodates no more than 70 riding campers at a time. We maintain an excellent staff ratio to provide a caring atmosphere for everyone. We have a rich tradition of teaching girls self-confidence through English horsemanship, and this summer will add Western saddle to to our Show Camper program. Our staff teach girls to realize their potential through horsemanship, friendship, and respect for animals.
Grier's two outdoor rings are a fine setting for riding.
Campers are able to participate in a number of activities that do not involve riding. A typical day involves opportunities to dance, practice drama, do some artwork and play a variety of sports. Over the years, there have been many happy campers at Grier's Allegheny Riding Camp who do not even ride horses! If you are an active child who enjoys friends, then Allegheny Riding Camp might be a wonderful camp for you!

Jeans, T-shirts, and heavy shoes with heels or riding boots are perfect for lessons! Proper riding pants and a white polo shirts are appropriate for the horse show, with jackets optional.

Some belong to the Grier School and some come just for camp like the riding campers! Riding instructors may have a riding camper ride several horses before a perfect match is made!

Camp is officially over for that session when the horse show ends. Campers who stay for more than one session will have a new riding test at the beginning of the next session.
